We got our Chief last week. We are excited, but we are also discovering some things that need some attention. This is our 1st non tent purchase. I'm also building a new vocabulary. It turns out that "thingy" has a different name.

Got our 1989 Chieftain 27 about a month ago. In the process of fixing it up and figuring out what goes where.

Lots of good info on line for those sorting things on a different rV but it is true that the older are somewhat more lacking on info but do take a look for what you might find on your personal RV as they do vary a whole bunch.
When asking questions, it is often critical that we know as much specific info on what you have as you can post. Not only the year and model but specific length like 34 H versus 34K lets su get a far better idea of what you might have. This info can be tied to your signature so that it posts with each item you add to the forum .
Tons of good info here:
https://www.winnebago.com/owners/owner-tools/service
As well as here:
https://catalog3d.winnebagoind.com/menu/Parts.htm

I find it nice to look at parts as a first step to telling how to take it apart!
Welcome to the group and yell if we can help.
