If you have the paint code then any dealer selling automotive paint can mix the correct formula for you or in most cases if you have a paint chip or a painted accessory that can be removed then they can match the paint. Any body shop can direct you to where they purchase their paint supplies

Paint match
Most auto paint shops will scan and mix paint to match. They can also put in into a spray can or brush applicator. I had paint mixed for my 2000 Adventurer by taking in my gas door for them to scan, this helped with the fading factor of the original paint.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I bought touch up paint from Lichtsinn Motors in Forest City Iowa. I sent the vin number and serial number and a picture of my coach with the paint section marked.
Just google them for the info. Joe

I got my touch-up paint right at the factory in Forest City. They have it right on the wall. Glass vials with brushes. I wonder if you called them if you could buy it right over the phone?

If you look up your paint code they will tell you what the paint number is IE Sherwin Williams number so and so, call Sherwi Williams and they will tell you what cars that paint was used on. Go to Pep Boys and pick up the touch up paint for that vehicle.

Paint Codes
Very good information on paint sources. Thanks to you all. I have Sherwin Williams paint on our 2001 Sportscoach and went on their web site with our paint codes and they came up as unknown. This week I will take the codes and our furnace panel that has all 3 colors to the closest SW store, 15 miles away, and see what I can find out. If I can get them to give me the auto crossover, I will go to Pep Boys and try find the paint. I will report back the results. Thanks again, DACOTAH

Make sure it's a Sherwin Williams AUTOMOTIVE paint store. Or phone Sherwin Williams Headquarters @ 216-332-8330

Paint color
Hello all, Just want to put this out for your thoughts. If you buy the original paint from the code how well will it match the faded paint color now of the MH. If you would scan the existing paint of the MH the paint will be a truer match of the faded paint. I know we all take very good care of our MH but Mother Nature has her way with the paint. I think we all have used original paint on a auto or two which really didn't match that well.

A Side Question
The paint in my touch-up kit is starting to thicken. Does anyone know what I should be thinning it with? Lacquer Thinner, Naphtha, Acetone... ?

Unless your painting a whole panel it will match. That is unless it's been stored outside in Arizina for all these years. Another thing that can be done is bring a small sample panel or gas door etc. into the parts store and match it up with the touch up paint they have in stock.
SCVJeff
As far as thinning touch up paint, I have used laquer thinner. It should work just fine.

I'm thinking of getting a spray can mixed with auto paint but was wondering what I should know or do to the surface prior to beginning. Any thoughts?

Nope, you have to go through a dealer unless you are at the factory.

They didn't have a perfect match but I used a car paint company. I will have to try your link on my next job.
