Where is the best place to find a classic RV for sale?
Hi everyone. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Obviously I am new to your ranks.
I am very interested in purchasing a cheap ($1000 tops) classic Winnebago motorhome and I am having a lot of difficulty finding one. I started a wanted ad on here already. I am specifically looking for 1960's and 1970's RV's no longer than 22 feet in drive-able condition that need major refurbishing in the living space. I want to start this rv as a project with my brother and update/modernize a classic RV on a small budget.
Does anyone know of any websites or places in Eastern PA or the surrounding tri-state area (NY and NJ) that would have what I am looking for?
Chefsp0t, I would recommend checking 2 locations, other than your local want ads. Check Craigs List and E-Bay. These are real good sources for those type vehicles. Also, RV.Net has an old RV section you can discuss this in.
Good luck.

I would look on the internet for a used one out in the west. The weather conditions are not as harsh so you might be able to find one in better shape.

Thanks for all the replies! I have checked ebay and CL but I will keep watching them. I am thinking that the people with old RVs in their yard probably aren't computer savvy.
Good advice on looking for something in better climates but unless I was buying something that would survive a thousand mile trip I'd like to find something closer to home.
