Last wed., we signed the papers to get a new motorhome.

It seemed easier than the new tv upgrade, and we have been looking for a year.

We were within a few hours of leaving for AZ by way of our son's and the Pumpkin Festival.

The dealer offered us the unit $33,000 less than the one we had looked for 10 days earilier. The only catch was it had a new front end from hitting a deer on delivery from the factory.

We get new warranty as it has never been delivered anywhere. The factory can't sell as a new unit because of the damage.

It was in the price range that we wanted.

It was the Itasca Horizon 40TD. Will not come for about 2 weeks.

They are taking the dishwasher out, and replacing it with an oven.

Wife likes to bake and cook, and has both of them in the current MH going many times. I don't want to starve either.

Winnebago says most people don't use an oven that much, but we use ours all the time.

We are going to take the washer/dryer out and see if we can sell it. People ask why? I always say that is what laundry mats are for. We would rather have the storage. We boon docked 5 of the 6 months last year.

WE would probably rather have solar panels than a washer/dryer.

We use disposable dinnerware almost exclusively - so losing the DW is a non-issue for us. We opted for a small counter top convection oven, so we didn't lose the 2 drawers in the galley.

We didn't think we wanted a washer when we got ours, but it has come in handy. Some of the CG's we have stayed in had NASTY laundromats. the only downsides (at least with the Splendide 2000 series) are the small capacity and long drying times. Assuming you are hooked up, of course . . . not good for boondocking. Next coach will have a (220v, I hope) stacker unit instead of a combo.

We use alot of paper plates ourselves. She probably only does the dishes at most once a day. Usually for silverware. When boondocking we use about 5-7 gallons of water per day total.

We have enough clothes with us I swear to go a month. We usually have 4-6 loads when she does the laundry, and we are done in less than 2 hours.

Just got another call from a different bank, and we don't have to put as much money down on the MH. Instead we now roll more money over from our IRA to the ROTH IRAs.

I was afraid would would have to take all that money for the down payment.

We also heard from the dealer, and they started taking the dishwasher out today, and we might get the MH in less than 2 weeks.

I certainly hope so. It is getting cold here in Northern Illinois. Supposed to be 27 tonight.
