Washer/Dryer combo

How many owners use their w/d and how many of you would just take it out and use the storage for something else?

Always and NEVER.

We always use our stacked W/D and we'd never take it out for any reason.

It makes my wife so happy. She hated going to laundromats in our prior RVs.

been motorhoming since 1986 and always wanted a W/D. when we bought new in 2015 we really considered it but decided against...didn't want to lose the space. that was the right decision. weekly laundry is not that big of a deal.

We bought our coach with a combo W/D. When it failed, we went without- for one season. There's a new combo in that space, now.

We use RV-park machines for larger items, such as sheets, and the combo for everything else.

The storage was nice, but not as nice as the onboard W/D.

Previous MH was a Combo - never again. Present MH is a stackable and always used and we run the commercial refrigerator going down the road off the inverter.

Some info. What we didn't like about the combo is the time it took to wash and dry. One has to remember that if you are washing a load you cannot wash another load until the drying is done, so the time is going to be long before loads. What we did like was the amount of space that it took up compared to the stackable, but we prefer the stackable.

What we liked about the stackable is the ability to wash a load, put it in the dryer and wash another load while the first is drying. Makes it so you don't have to spend the entire day doing clothes.

When we had the combo DW would do her delicate clothes and all others we would go to a laundry mat to save time.

That's one way to exercise the generator. On my coach the generator is in the front just below the driver/passenger. Although not really noisy I'd rather not run it.

Ditto on the happy wife! She hates the laundromat and not having to go saves me mountains of grief!

My wife said, if we full time, must have washer/dryer, no more laundromats like we used vacationing. This rig has the combo, use it all the time. Small loads, every few days or so. Once you get used to its abilities, it works very well for us. Starting our 11th year on the road, wouldn't be without it.

Had a Splendide 1 piece combo unit in our 38' Adventurer when we bought it.

Used it a few times and then immediately pulled it out and sold it. Found that it's capacity was incredibly small, it was very noisy, and the spin cycle rocked & rolled our entire rig. And running 1 complete washer & dryer cycle took hours. Just too annoying.

So by removing it we saved over 100lbs of weight and opened up a lot of extra storage space - not just what the unit itself took up, but there was a lot more space behind it which it was blocking.

We found that using a laundromat every few weeks was far quicker & easier as we could do several loads simultaneously and that it cleaned our clothes much better.

Having said all that - if we were to ever get another large Class A would be open to having the separate stacked units as they are apparently much better and more convenient. But we found the single all-in-one unit to be pretty useless.

Our stackable washer dry are very enabling.

We use our Washer/Dryer exclusively. They have paid for themselves in just the cost of coin operated machines a year ago.

It gives us a lot more time to do things we want. No need to go to the laundry if the park has one or to a laundromat if not.

With our big solar array and LiFePO4 we even was and dry without electricity.

We are full times for 6 years now.

When we started full timing, my wife was really po'd that I opted for a stackable w/d in our new MH. She now thinks that is the best decision we made. No experience with the combo units, but several people I know have voiced displeasure with them. Mostly because it can take most of the day to complete one load.

Washer/Drier

We had a Splendide washer/drier installed in our Winnebago Vectra 2 years ago at Camping World. My wife loves it, She does a small load every couple of days and we have never had any problems with it. A Happy Wife is a Happy Camper

What brand washer & dryer did you find which do not operate on electricity? I have seen some manual washing tubs on Amazon - but drying then still requires a clothes line of some sort.
Sounds like you have solved the energy crisis!

The wife thought it would be no big deal if our rig came with a combo, which it did, she was thinking storage until she used it. Now she loves it..

Washer/Dryer

We would never give it up ... very convenient for addressing laundry.
