TV antenna

New to me 2014 Trend Class C. Am having problems with the TV antenna it will not rotate. Can the gears be stripped? I get a clicking sound when I turn the control knob. Sounds like gears not meshing.

Can it be over rotated and the cable fail? The TV channels come in intermittently. Like there is a loose connection.

There are some youtube videos about servicing the antenna and yes there can be issues with the gears.

New Raise / Lower Gear

New Base

And this is the part that ties the 2 together and potentially the part you need.

ThomB thanks for the reply. I will look at the links. I took it apart and the shaft was broken just as it went through the roof. The rear antenna was missing. I imagine the former owner hit something backing in. No damage to the roof.
