TST Flow through cap sensors

HI All
Has anyone used these TM-507 tire pressure monitoring cap sensors.
I have the the 24J on the Mercedes. i need to replace the tires and
am thinking of doing a monitoring system at the same time. Also
any advice on a good tire.
Thanks
Dave

We chose the non-flow thru type sensors (EEZTire brand) because we heard the flow thurs put extra weight on the valve stem ends.

We don’t adjust the pressure all that often and removing the sensor is not a hassle when we do.

Do yourself a favor and have metal "extended valve stems" installed in your tires. Unlike screw-on "valve extensions" these replace your existing valve stems. Borg makes high quality ones. They're not flexible and will be much more stable with the sensors attached than valve extensions and are less subject to failure. They're not inexpensive but are well worth the expense. Having them mounted to your rims when you get new tires is the best time to install them:

Like the previous posters, I use the non-flow-through sensors (EEZ TPMS). I've also read that the flow-through sensors are subject to clogging but have no first hand experience with this. I also found the anti-theft devices to be a pain when you have to remove the sensors to fill your tires so I don't use them. I have the sensors on my toad which is also my daily driver and haven't experienced any theft issues.

Same here. I removed those right from the start of using these.

tst flow thu sensors

Thanks for your input.

I have installed the valve extensioms on the duals, will have those flopy
valve stems on the front rims instaled when I get new tires.
I also don't have any trouble checking pressure before a trip, just would
have a little more "at ease" if I could tell if one of the tires was loosing
air while on the road. Best of travels

Well, I've been using the 507 system for a couple years now, and have the flow-throughs installed on my 6 tires. All tires have the metal stems, and I've had no issues. No clogging, quick-n-easy when I need to add a couple lbs of air. I did not use the anti-theft though.

I used the 507's on my previous MH for 8 or more years. Never had a problem. I have not put them on the new one yet...bad on me. And yes, the Borg "Dullay Valves" are the way to go.

I had nothing but trouble with the TST flow through system. Either I couldn't get an accurate tire gauge reading or I couldn't get air into the tire. Replaced the system with the EEZTire brand. Working great for several years now. Because batteries are so cheap I replace them about once a year.

No problems with flow-thru sensors

We’ve had the TST 507 system installed for 2 years on all six wheels. Very convenient for adding/bleeding/manual pressure checks. No problems with sensor operation.

Just be sure you have sturdy air valve extensions. The sensors, though small, add weight on the end of the extensions. As the wheels rotate this extra weight causes extra torque load on the extensions & can break extension supports, or loosen/unscrew the extensions causing air leakage - the voice of experience.

i also have the 507 system with the flow through on the motor home and cap sensors on the toad. I hate the ones on the toad, and since I have metal valve stems on the Toad wish I had the flow through sensors. So much so that if anyone has flow through and wants to trade my 4 cap sensors for their flow through I would do it in a hearth beat.
