In Beverly Beach Fl., where is everyone. The cg is almost empty. Is gas making that much difference? Hope we can find enough to get back home.

We just spent 7 of the last 10 weeks on the road, and the ONLY place we found that was anywhere near capacity was the Keewenaw Peninsula in early August.

A couple of months ago in Ogallala, Nebraska, we spent the night at a CG handy to the Interstate. Had a nice chat with the owner and I asked him what impact fuel prices had on his business. Plenty as it turned out.

He said last year he generally filled up *every* night in the summer. This year he is running at 50% or less of capacity. Business is so bad, he is pushing out several capital improvement projects for the CG he had planned.

Wow, I've been on the road for 3 weeks and every where I've gone is full.

One week in Gettysburg, one week in DC and now in Philadelphia. I had trouble getting a 50 amp full service pull thru. Best I could get was a 30 amp with water and a back in.

I guess it depends a lot on the tourist side of camping.

I think you are there early in the season and still within hurricane season. The people will be there in groves in just a few weeks.

Enjoy it while you can.

Maybe it's because of the news report of gas stations running out of fuel in the southeast part of the U.S. because of Hurrican Ike damaging refineries. I'd probably be a little skeptical if that was happening in my neck of the woods. It's apparently a serious problem, according to the networks.

I just ran I-20 from Shreveport, LA to Myrtle Beach, SC. Gas prices were as low of $3.49 to $4.29 along the way. Now that being said I made sure I had a full tank as I went thru Atlanta. On the West side of Atlanta it was $3.59/79 and on the East side of Atlanta the it was $3.99 to $4.29. It was back down to $3.5x in South Carolina.

We've been in RV parks in Rapid City, Red Lodge, West Yellowstone, Jackson, WY, Bryce Canyon, and now in Monument Valley. None have been totally full but the majority of RV's we've seen are folks from Australia, Canada, England and other Eastern European countries in rental class C's.
