It was bound to happen.

Sorry to see another independent manufacturer get bought out. I always liked Winnebago’s, Newmar’s and Tiffin’s. Now Newmar is owned by Winnebago and Tiffin is owned by Thor.

I hope the new Winnebago Journey marks a new level of excellence for WBGO. It would be great to see it compared favorably with Newmar and Tiffin.

I think in past years, the Journey, Meridian, Tour, Grand Tour and Ellipse were pretty close to their Newmar and Tiffin competitors. But somewhere in maybe 2015 or 2016 things started to go down hill. At least that's how it seems when talking to owners. I can't tell you how many 2016 Grand Tour owners I've met that have had a nonstop series of problems with their coaches.

The discontinuation of the old model Adventurer in 2018 and the whole Oregon/Iowa fiasco and what that did to their diesel pusher models has really set them back in luxury Class As.

Also, I hope that the new Journey along with the modern Horizon are net the end of the line for higher end models of Class As. A new Tour would be great to see.

In Class Bs and Class Cs WBGO seems to be on a roll. Now it's time for Class As.

PS. I'm really bullish on the new EKKO Class C. That's a great standard spec they've put together. I'm expecting it to sell out.

I love the specs on the new Journey. They did a really nice job on it. If I get a DP next, I’ll look at that first. However, it would be great if they brought many of those features to a new luxury gas line again, similar to the Adventurer’s from 2017 and before. Like you said, they seem to be picking up the baton for Class A’s again, after dropping it in 2015.

Perhaps, the owner of Tiffan said this, a few weeks back when it was announced...

“The future of this group of companies is critical not just to the Tiffin family, but to our employees, our dealers and our incredibly loyal customers,” he stated. “… I have known of Bob Martin for many years and have always respected Thor’s business model and how effectively they have added new businesses to their portfolio, while maintaining the independence and legacy of each new addition. ”

Tiffin was purchased by Thor Industries and not Thor Motorhome Thor has a reputation of allowing the companies to continue like they were and not make changes. They do help with engineering and financial.
