Temp change... snap, crackle, POP!
We have a 2011 Journey 40U and we get what I assume are normal sounds as the sun shines and temps change. A creak here and a pop there.
Same thing as the sun goes down, but sometimes it sounds like a gun when off.
BANG!
Go outside to see if a rock or brick hit us.
Don't see any thing strange inside or out, but man, these temp changes can be loud.
Everyone else have this too?

I think it's normal -- or at least I hope so. Ours has done it since new with no apparent damage.

So you go out each day to check?

We experience the same sounds, alarming at first but used to it now.

Our S&B does the same thing in the evening when it cols down. The front of the house faces west and with cathedral ceilings and all glass it gets rather warm and when the sun goes down it cools rather fast causing the popping.

Go over to Winnebago-specific issues RV Forum and ask your question. I remember reading about a banging sound sometime back and the cure was to rework some metal panels. I think the group on that forum can help you.

Hi Jeffery. We have not had this problem but I did read of it on the Tour and Elipse. It was a sheet metal plate in the rear of the coach that needed to be cut or braced. I don't recall which. You may be able to find the old thread about this. I tried a couple of searches and couldn't find it. Maybe someone else can help you. But, I think you will find it is a easy fix.

We have had the bang problem a couple of times. In our case it turned out to be from the hydraulic levelers. It only happens when the rear levelers are extended a lot.

Doesn't seem to be related to the jacks. I am glad to hear that others get similar sounds occasionally.

No I don't. Just when it would be easier to believe it was a brick.
Many years ago, we heard some 'bangs' and I went outside and found our travel trailer was down range from a dirt clod fight on the hill above our site. One big dirt clod/rock landed right in the middle of our SUV's hood. We were able to get some parents to pay for the dent and paint repair, so I do go out when the 'pops' seem excessive.
