Thumbs up Step - CW - Lichtsinn

I wanted to give a quick shout out to the forum sponsor Lichtsinn.

My wife and I were on our way out of town and our step wouldn't come up. I have been having some health issues, so instead of crawling under and seeing what was up, we drove by CW. Well, CW fit us in, told us the motor in the step was gone, no one sold that motor anymore and if they did, it wouldn't work with our controller. They tried to sell us a complete new step ~$400+. We decided to pass on this and wired the step UP for the trip.
When we got back I emailed the guys at Lichtsinn. They told me the old motor number had been replaced with a new number. They had a motor in stock and gave me a price, a bunch less than CW. I got the new motor in the "mail", installed it in about an hour, everything works great.

One other thing, when I was looking for Lichtsinn's number/email address, this board was down. I thought I had lost all the good contacts and information this board provides. I found an old invoice from them to get the contact information. I just found out today, that this board wasn't lost in cyber space.

If you all need some Winne parts give the guys over at Lichtsinn a holar, even if you think they don't make it anymore or someone told you they don't make it anymore. They are a great resource to have and I appreciate being able to work with them.

To the board staff and sponsors... keep up the good work, it is appreciated.

James;

Thank you for taking the time to post your positive experience with Lichtsinn Motors. It is always nice to hear good reports. Like you, I have always had excellent help and parts service from Lonnie & David.

I also ordered from Lichtstinn this summer.

FWIW, the Kwikee step motor is a windshield wiper motor. All one has to do is take it to Napa and they'll match it up. Saves lots of $$$.

I've always been happy with them too. David there always finds the most obscure part and responds to emails the same day. Hard to beat their customer service.

Though we are 5th wheel owners, it is nice for us Iowans to hear great reports about firms in our state. If we ever do choose the motorhome route, Winnebago & Lichtsinn's will be at the top of our list

I agree about the avatar. Politics are not appropriate in an RV forum.

I agree with Rick Long and am ashamed that I did not speak up when I first saw it. Kudos Rick---- for being on guard. I don't care about James T being removed, but his Avatar definitely.
