I have the 3 cushion Rest Easy sofa in my Journey. Today, when I went to recline the sofa, the right side(if facing the sofa) does not want to move. It moves a little at first but not in sync with the left side and the whole thing only goes down a short distance then quits. Any ideas what could be the problem or what I could check? Thanks.

Pull out the footrest and see if something is binding in the big long jackscrew that moves the seat. Might be one of your seatbelts hung up in it.

I had checked, more than once, to make sure there is nothing binding the jackscrew. Looking at it again I have noticed the jackscrew on the right side is not moving at all.

Thanks for the help.

When you push the button to lower it can you hear the motor running? If not it's probably bad or a fuse (only God knows where)might be blown.

The seats are great when they work. I have one where the footrest won't stay in when traveling. I've had it adjusted, played with it myself, ordered a new cable (yet to be put in). I'm almost to the point of superglueing it shut!

The motor runs and the left side (side the button is on) moves but the right side jackscrew does not move and the whole thing stops after the left side moves a few inches. The right side is stopping it. I haven't tried to force it because I was afraid of damaging it.

If the motor is working, there is a small metal spline that is hammered into the jackscrew where it attaches to the motor connector....Mine fell out and I had the same problem as you...I replaced the spline with a bent nail an it has worked fine sinc then RKL

Jackscrew?? Not sure mine has one. I do know that mine has something like the old speedometer drive cable that goes from the motor to each side. It can come out of it's socket at either end, and the motor will run but the side that is loose does not move. If that is the problem, make sure the couch is even side to side, then with the foot rest out I can crawl under mine and re-insert the drive cable into the loose side. I have someone else tap the power button to ensure I have it fully inserted. When sure it is in place, I wrapped packing tape around the drive cable and a metal frame member to keep it in place. Both sides of mine have come loose in the past (one under warranty, and the dealer service ticket says they "reglued the drive chain"). Neither side has come loose since their tape jobs!

Thanks for the things to check. I am visiting family so will round up an extra pair of hands in the next day or so and check these things out. The cable does look like it is in place but I'm not going to say for sure until I can thoroughly check it. Thanks to you forum friends I have somewhere to look.
