Rest Easy couch

We had the welds (both of them)on our rest easy couch break. The welds are located on the frame where it expands and contracts. We temporaly fixed it w/ pipe clamps and are awaiting a new frame from the dealer.

Anyone else have this problem?

Bob, I'm thinking of removing my couch and replacing it with a recliner chair. If it's not too much trouble, please let me know if it's difficult to remove the couch.

Donovan-the dealership where we got our Winnie is going to be doing the work since it is still under warrenty, so I am not sure how easy/difficult it would be.

Donavon,

Removing the Rest Easy is pretty simple. It breaks down into separate upholstery pieces and the frame. I removed ours when I sent the upholstery pieces out for recovering last year.

By extending the footrest and laying underneat the unit, you can see the bolts that hold the seat, back, and arm sections on the unit. Remove the 4 bolts that hold each section to the frame, then finally unbolt the frame from the floor. One the upholstery sections are removed, the frame easily fits out the door.

I'm presently looking for a pair of recliners that will fit nicely into the sofa area. I can't wait to get rid of that piece of crap that is very uncomfartable.

Hey Bud,

So far mine is very comfortable. Is this something that has developed over time, or has yours always been uncomfortable??
