Rear camera replacement

The rear camera on our 2016 31kp Minnie Winnie began to fog up. It finally stopped working so I removed it and opened it up. I found some kind of moisture absorbing packet inside and it and the camera interior were wet. The camera was hard wired to the cable that connects it to the monitor. I found the identical camera online to purchase as a replacement but it comes with a female connector and the supplier only provides a 65 foot cable to connect the new camera to the monitor and not a male connector that can be connected to the existing cable. I have tried to locate a matching male connector but no luck. Any suggestions?

What brand is it? Our Mobile Vision rear camera has a connector, but it was stuffed a ways into the eyebrow.

Rear camera replacement

The camera is a C1000M supplied by RiverPark. It comes with about 18 inches of C244 cable attached to a four pin connector that has a lockring. As I said in my post the original camera on the RV was hard wired to the cable. There is no connector at the camera end. I have pulled any excess cable out of the endwall of the RV and did not find a connector. There is no access into the endwall and I would think the cable was installed as the RV was built.

Depending on your electrical abilities, assuming the cameras are indeed identical, you could cut the cable on the new camera and splice it on to the old cable at the eyebrow, matching color for color, and the coax, if any.

That may be my only option. The camera available from RiverPark is identical to the one Winniebago installed when building the RV. I have looked for a four pin connector to install on the RV cable that matches the connector on the camera but have not been able to find it. I did not want to unseal a new camera to hardwire the RV cable directly to the connections inside the camera like it was from the factory.

I am not familiar with your camera, but here is a website that I will use to upgrade my old black and white camera and monitor when I can justify the expense. RV Cams: Backup Camera Systems (All)

So, I infer from the picture and your comments that your camera has an identical female connector on it, and you are looking for a mating male connector.


Do I understand correctly?

Yes. I don't know if this is recommended but I had hoped to find the matching positive lock male connector to install on the existing cable in the RV. There is no room in the wall for both connectors but I can pull the cable into an overhead compartment inside the RV and secure it there and seal the hole in the exterior wall with a rubber grommet and sealant.

Unfortunately, I can't find any leftover parts from my install.


However, I'm pretty sure that's the same connector that is on the MobileVision system I installed..


Contact the guys at RV Cams: Backup Camera Systems (All). They should be able to help.

I had the same problem over a year after I had my RV, I called Riverpark and they said that should not happen and they sent me a new complete ne camera with plug. Easy install and it work great now.

Thanks Jim, Riverpark only offered me the replacement camera for $125 & shipping and a new 65' cable for $25 plus shipping. My camera was already four years old when it failed so I am not complaining. The camera they sent me was correct but the original was hardwired to the cable. The replacement they sent me requires a male four pin positive lock connector that I have not been able to locate. Installing a new 65' cable is not an option for me.
