Rand McNally and Xite... UPDATE!!!
Those of us with Xite "infotainment" systems have Rand McNally GPS systems built in. But as those of us that update our systems and maps know it's been 18-months since the last Maps update on the RAND "Dock" software.
Behind the scenes RND filed for bankruptcy and then was sold, and quickly sold again over those past 18-months.
The new owners have abandoned the RV Mapping and Software business. In other words "Lifetime Free Maps" has a much shorter lifetime than was promised.
So, at first Riverpark - the distributor of the Xite system - was saying nothing. But now they've signed a deal with NavNGo software and will be offering these maps and GPS routing software on the Xite system: https://www.igonavigation.com/.
I've been told they are the old TomTom GPS company, but I don't have direct knowledge of this.
So, we've been waiting for Riverpark to offer updated SD cards to change us to the new system. But... wait for it... no new SD cards we'd have to buy new Xite Systems. The cost? $1,100.
According to Riverpark the "new" system just addresses the new GPS/Maps and does away with the SD Card with over the air (WiFi) map and software updates. It does not add new services like Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
Thing is... Winnebago is still selling RVs with this Rand McNally GPS system built in - even as it was terminated 18 months ago.
This seems to me to be a very rotten deal and one we should not accept.

I agree! This is a bad deal for everyone with that system. I’d love to switch to a system with car play, but the size of the screen used in the Adventurers may not allow for that. Please let me know if you find an alternate head unit.

The app for this GPS does not even exist in the Apple App Store!

Thanks for the link. Glad it's there. Still don't like the raw deal we are getting. Good excuse now to get a better in-dash unit with Car Play.

What we need is a good unit that accepts three video inputs (lefthand, righthand, and rear cameras on my coach), has NAV for RV's, Sirius Satellite Radio, and Carplay. I haven't found it yet. Any suggestions?

I'd like the same thing,
My Xite has not been functioning well for about a year. Touch screen not working. Move to GPS and the Accept screen is up but unable to engage,
So for this trip I broke out the Garman and it is functioning well,

The Newmar and Entegra forum's on www.irv2.com have a number of discussions about replacing the Xite system with units from other companies. The Kenwood DMX 1037s has been mentioned.
One of the problems with replacing the Xite is there are so many different versions - 6", 7", 9" 10.2" and some with two screens 10.2" and 7" on the passenger side. And, for these larger versions a hefty Core Unit in the upper cabinet, too.
The Kenwood above is 10.2" but I don't know if it has a separate head unit or if it's all built into the dash. And, I don't know if it can support a separate "slave" unit like my system. I do know it works with the camera's and has Apple Car Play. Thing is it costs MORE than a new Xite System - $1,249.99.

Here's an idea - but it would cost $130 to test out...
There is a brand of car stereo/gps called Stinger and they make a 10.1 inch in-dash system. It even seems to have a separate head unit like the Xite. Anyway it doesn't come with the GPS SD card (they use iGo just like the new Xite) and you have to purchase it separately. But that's just it. You can buy the SD card with the iGo software and maps on it for $129.
I'd love to buy it and test it in the Xite and see if it could work. Of course, that's a pretty long shot and I'm sure once opened it couldn't be returned.
Here's some details of the full Stinger system and the SD Card:

We got something similar to that in our 2021 Minnie Winnie 22M. It’s a Sony unit that has CarPlay, 3 camera shots, and Sirius. Although it does not have the Nav. I’ll check for the model #. It came with our unit from Winnebago.

This whole situation bums me out. Never liked the xcite system but all I have had other than Google maps. Don't have a grand laying around to blow on this. Piggy bank needed for other major maintenance items and fun with grandkids. Oh well

Our Xite "infotainment" is memory limited. Only has 1Gby SD card and unit can not read higher capacity cards. The only way I was able to update the maps years ago the one and only time I did it was severly limiting the update area coverage. It's a lousy system, but it has not quit it's limited working yet.
For now, going anywhere new, Google on our phones suppliments getting the

That's a surprise, on our Adventurer the Xite came with an 8gb SD card and when the maps got to big we switched to a 16gb SD with no problems at all.

Though I'm not in this situation for a few years now my 2018 FR GT5 had one unit that had the radio, BT for the phone and the 3 cameras but no navigation. I hated having my screens on the same as navigation anyway so I had a separate RV660 at the time. If I was in the position thats been discussed here JMO but I'd get a separate screen like my current DP has for the cameras. I love the continuous viewing and can run one camera continually or all 3 at once which i usually do. By doing that the navigation is uninterrupted by a camera when your taking turns. I was in process of doing this when I moved up to the DP that had separate screens. The stereo system in there and BT wasn't that great anyway so would've been worth the swap out. Just my thoughts.

i addressed this issue about a year ago. Was getting nowhere with Riverpark and the Xite infotainment was junk....... replaced with Kenwood 775RVS system with Garmin Nav capabilities. has all kinds of updated options like bluetooth, car play etc etc.... Works with side and rear cameras and i added the dash cam as well. check it out. Also check out Winnebago class c motorhome owners facebook page. Lots of good info there.

Doesn't surprise me at all, just one more nail in the Xite coffin.

Looks good, but this is only a 7” screen. The Adventurer has a 10” main screen and a 7” slave screen.
