Portable washing machine...

Hey, Folks,
Have any of you used a portable washing machine on your RV trips? I saw a few for sale on Amazon and was thinking of getting one. Any ideas, experiences, opinions, suggestions? I just got a 2020 Winnebago Sunstar which doesn't come with a built-in, onboard washer/dryer like the Forza does. All thoughts appreciated!

Just got one and still figuring it out. So far I'm happy with it. It's a bit "hands on" and more involved than a residential automatic washer. "You" are the fill/rinse/spin cycle.

I run ours in the shower. Just made sense to me to fill it with the shower head and let it drain where it sits

I can tell you that one pair Levi's 501s in my admittedly larger size (40x36) is a struggle for the spin dryer so I just hand wring my jeans and hang them in the shower to drip dry

About washing machines...

Hey, Cyberian,
Thanks for your response! Couple of questions...

1. So, how heavy is it?
2. Do you have any trouble lifting it out of the shower when you want to take a shower?
3. Do you have to fill it with water and, if so, how do you do that?
4. When it drains, does it overflow from the bottom of the shower and get water in the bathroom?
5. What make and model did you get?

It weighs 23.5lbs empty, no lifting trouble. Water fill is manual, as are rinse & spin, sometimes rinse & spin again. It's a bit more "hands on" than a household automatic washer.

Milne is gravity drain and the only time it will overflow is if I let the bath gray tank get too full.
This is the model I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also bought a larger than expected drying rack https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but it works and I have room for it.
Also bought a telescoping closet/shower rod for my Levi's because they're too heavy for the spin cycle when wet.

Does this washer seem easier or better than hand washing an item in a sink?

Much easier than hand washing, especially with the spin dryer

Portable washing machine

I have one and I love it. We hook it up in the shower and off we go. I done towels clothes and sheets in it. I don't think I would travel if I didn't have one. I hate using public washing machines.

Bucket

We use a five gallon bucket with a lid set in the shower while traveling. Rinse when we get to wherever in the evening and hang up.

Works great.

I bought the one shown in the other post for my wife and she absolutely loves it. Since I was on a roll in my points building process I bought her the Faberware dishwasher also. You should have seen the look on her face when FedEx delivered it. If it works anywhere near as nice as the washing machine I should be good for many months to come.

For about the same money you can get an automatic single tub machine. My sister has one of the fully automatic ones and loves it especially dealing with small loads at home when coming back from shopping and errands now that we are having to deal with COVID19. When she gets home she throws her clothes and mask in the little machine before she takes a shower to ensure she does not bring COVID19 home to infect her at risk husband. Uses a lot less water and electricity than her full size machine.
