Pantry Catch on Itasca 04

The pantry catch on my MC broke on our last trip, It seem to be integral to the upper slide. I found the part and to purchase a new slide through a local RV dealer is $200.00. I think I can fix it with an external bolt latch for travelling and a bullet spring catch for latching while parked, but I would like to restore to original ( without paying $200.00) as it is a rather elegant simple system.

Does any one know who supplied Winnebago with their cabinetry hardware back then?

Thanks
Wayne

I have the same problem on my 04 Brave and have not found a replacement other than from Winnebago. The price I got was around $100. Contact Contact Us
they are the Winny dealer near the plant and give good service.

ThanksTN Bill

I went on the Dealers Website that you suggested and got a price of $110.00. and then spent a bunch of time exploring there service tips. They seem like a good outfit.
I should have pointed out that I am in Saskatchewan CDA and the $200.00 included shipping and exchange ( but not the brokerage fee of possibly $40.00). So I am thinking my price is about $50 higher then it should be. I am going to check a little more.

Thanks again
Wayne

I was chasing a mouse down and when I removed the panty slide I lost all the ball bearings and had to replace the slides.

I used snaps and a strap and it works fine. The new slides were close out at the hardware store.

Our latch broke, I made a new latch for our pantry, it worked fine, but I think I need to use a better piece of metal

Pictures requested

Billy,

Can you please post a picture of your latch and how it latches.

Our latch broke and I am struggling to see how the latch actual latches and what exactly broke.

Thanks

My slide looks just like the one at the top of the page. Just a flimsily piece of metal

Our coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD, we've got TWO of those pantries. To date, at 12 years old and, 68,000 miles, both latches are pretty much in great shape. I just looked at both of them and, while certainly not the most stout of latches, it's stout enough for the load(s) placed against it. I looked at ours really close and, cannot see any signs of possible fatigue with any part.

May I ask, what part has broken, on any of yours of the same style latches?
Scott

Try RVdiscountSuppliers.com

Phone and ask if you may email them that picture for clarification of what you need.
Our slideout panty has the same latch, which I think is part of the slide mechanism. I've wondered what to do if the latch breaks.

The part that broke was the thin metal latch that connects to the thumb lever. It is a very thin piece of metal
