Noisy dining table

My View dining table squeaks continuously as we drive unless on a glass smooth road. I tightened the bolt holding it in place to no avail.. would love to hear of a fix because it drives me nuts as I drive. Thanks

Table squeak

Have someone sit at table while you are driving. Chances are it is at connection of two places that could be detached and insulated. Then reassemble. You would be amazed at what can cause a squeak. Travato john

If the table legs remove from the floor where that bolt is...you can try the 2 following suggestions:

1. Wrap as many layers of WHITE TEFLON TAPE (the tape to seal threads, like your water heater drain plug) and be liberal enough to make a thick enough 'bandage/gasket the width of how much of the table legs enters the floor mount. That will stop all squeaks, if it is leg/mount generated.

2. for a really pesky squeak, you can try wrapping a tensor bandage around the same (as above, ) try that as a 'stop squeak gasket'.

If the squeak is coming from the legs where they attach to the underside of the table, ...simply add (as laid out above) layers of white Teflon tape, where the table legs insert into the bottom holders of the table. That should do it for any squeaks....Teflon can't be beat as a buffer 'gasket' between two abrading or rubbing (through movement/road travel surfaces...

Good luck!
