New to forum - 2017 Vista 35LX

Just bought our 1st Winnie, 2017 Vista 35 LX. This is our 5th unit in 10 years. I have a few questions ,we found this new looking silver whats looks like a tow hook of some kind, never been used, what they heck is it for ? I normally leave my RV plugged in on off season to keep batteries up, on this unit do I want coach and house batteries on our off ? Talking about toggles switches at entry steps.

depends on what type of batteries and charger/converter you have.

- lead acid with a "dumb" charger: i always removed the batts and put them on a trickle charger in the garage where it was somewhat warmer.

- lead acid with a smart 3-stage charger: IMO you can leave them in all winter but i'd check them at least once a month for water level (use distilled water only) and a hydrometer to check for state of charge. be certain your battery charger has a 'float' mode.

- AGM batteries: I leave mine in all winter. firstly they are difficult for an old guy like me to get to much less lift in and out. secondly, see my firstly statement. my AGMs are now 6-seasons old and show no signs of problems.
