New rig confussion

Hello to all,
I have just joined the group and have some questions on my new rig I have purchased. It is a 2013 Itasca 36M Meridian with handicapped lift custom installed. It has the Cummings 450 Hp I have never owned a diesel pusher before and was wondering if anyone has any comments on this model or what to look out for. Also was wondering if any one knows where the fresh water tank empty valve is located? I pick the rig up on the 12th of this month. I test drove it and the air brakes take some getting use to. If anyone has any suggestions about what to watch for please advise.

Thank You,
Happy Motoring

Welcome to the forum. I've moved this to our Winnebago forum to get some owner input to your questions.

Welcome and glad to meet you!

When you pick up the rig you should spend several hours with the dealer on the walk through. Make a list of questions including the tank question. I would suggest even filming the walk through. Many dealers have an area to stay for a day or two to check everything out prior to leaving. Take advantage of this if available.

Camper Bill:
Suggest you download the operator's manual from the Winnebago site for your coach. Go to the Itasca website - Owners - Manuals & Diagrams - Operator Manuals. It will tell you the exact location of the fresh water dump valve as info on all other systems.
Congrats on the new coach - there is lots of good help here in this forum as well.

First it has a 360HP cummins engine not a 450, the fresh water dump is in the first compartmant behind the wheel under the passenger seat. I have the Journey which is the same floorplan.

Here is some reading for you

Have the dealer spend about 4hours with you going thru every operation. The big ones to learn first are about the Chassis and Coach Battery disconnects. These can cause you a lot of headaches if you get then wrong. When you pick it up make sure they give you the Owners manuals. you need to do a lot of reading of these. Believe it or not they will answer a lot of your questions. Then there is here, where we will always give you our opinion and what NOT to do because we have already been there done that.

But remember take it out and enjoy it is the most important part. Get it out on the road and in the Campgrounds where it belongs.
