Adrain,

We are in St. Louis now, just got back from the Arch...an impressive piece of engineering. We are going to stay here for couple of days then head toward Dayton. Any recommendations for an RV park near the AFB?

Jim:

Coach has run and handled fine, even in some fairly strong cross winds between Albuquerque and Amarillo. However, my LP furnace won't run (heat pump is OK for the temps we've experienced) and my heater core just started leaking badly yesterday. I've by-passed the heater core and guess I will be replacing that when I get home. I just wish Winnebago had not put it in such a hard to get location.

We haven't orderd the flag yet but did wear out T-shirts around. Lots of inquiries from other motorhome folks. We let them know what a great forum this is! Need to buy the flag now!

Gary sorry to hear bout the heater core. The cost of the core is probably not too bad, getting to it and replacing it seems to be the real problem.

The heater core on the older coaches seems to be failue item...Isn't the ARCH truly awesome? Safe Miles

Jim, I am planning to have a local radiator shop make a core for me. My father was in the auto/heavy truck radiator business for years and I worked for him in the summers. I believe the OEM core is weak and I don't want another one of those.

The Arch is something everyone needs to see and do at least once.

I'd be interested to hear what was/is wrong with your LP furnace. How to get at the wiring? etc.

Thank you Gary.

Donovon:

I will let you know on the furnace. Fortunately, the temps we've experienced have been moderate so heat pump has kept us toasty. I plan to dig into the furnace when we get home next week and will let everyone know what we find.
