Louvered Vents for Driver/Passenger Windows

I used the metal louvered vents in the front windows of my RAM Promaster successfully, and bought a pair for my 2020 Sprinter (2021 View). The vents fit into the top of the window frame channel and the glass window goes up and fits into a channel on the bottom of the vents, making a secure and waterproof vent/window combination. They provide ventilation capability when the RV is stored or parked.

On the Sprinter, however, the window goes up, fits into the channel and immediately retracts (I assume thinking it has hit an obstacle and should go back down, rather than stopping at that height, less than fully "up"). I am told there is a setting somewhere to disable this "auto retract" option, but no one seems able to tell me where to find said setting. I tried manually raising the window to the proper height, but the window controls are not fine enough to let me do that.

Since these vents are sold by many Sprinter stores, I assume they must be able to be used. Anyone know the secret?

Hopefully, someone here can help. But also try asking or searching at www.sprinter-source.com/forum

You'll find a great deal of Sprinter info there.
