Never heard of a 5 point nut. What is this for or on? Are you sure it's not a 6-point?

I have seen them used on back yard transformers to lock the lids.

Must be something designed to prevent easy opening/closing like a security door. Maybe fire hydrant?

Maybe one of the newer Craftsman tool sets with sockets that can grab odd shaped bolts and such could work?

The 5 point attachments were originally designed for fire hydrants to keep people from using them. Some specialty tool places have the needed sockets.

Tamper-proof Torx Plus is also a 5 sided fastener. Sockets can be had from McMaster-Carr in relatively quick fashion.

To keep other water departments from being able to access your water, towns spec'd their own unique nut designs for operating their hydrants and removing nozzle caps...many,many different size pentagon nuts [and nozzle threads as well]. Hydrant wrenches have a threaded handle on one of the five faces. With this adjustment, it will fit many pent. nuts. This is a rather bulky tool, however, with limited applications. Would be interesting to know the OP's application.
