Do you have to have one? I'd hate drilling into that big beautiful front. Maybe ziptie to the grillwork?

I bought mine in Texas, though I live in Louisiana. Texas requires fronts but Louisiana doesn't. Luckily the tx dealer didn't put a bracket on it.

A friend of mine just puts the front plate in the front window, did not want to drill holes in a new rig. The plate is there in sight for when needed.

I recently addressed this with a post here.

With a normal license plate holder the plate will hang down too low, below the fairly in front on many WB models. This holder mentioned in the thread above lets you position it so the plate bottom edge is above the bottom of the RV front fairing for better clearance. However you still have to buy your preferred license plate rim, hopefully with an American Flag.

Hey @broadst...I was just crawling around the rig and found two openings on the lip at the front, right smack in the middle, below the grill. This is the factory bolt holes, I suspect for the front license plate, as seen in the opening of the Intent video I saw on the Lichtsinn webpage. I think I have the bracket. It was in one of the galley drawers along with the fridge screw. The salesman had no idea what it was. But I took it around and tested it, and sure enough, the openings for it match the boltholes on the front 'bumper'. I'll take a picture and post it here. I have no other hardware to install it. No bolts, no nuts, and I would presume washers too. It looks like an l bracket, about eight inches long and five inches tall. See if it's rattling around somewhere. Maybe in the closet or something.

Here's a pic of the bracket. I just grabbed an old plate, and yep, it's definitely for license plates. The threaded bolts are welded to the plate marry up perfectly to the width needed.

Weird that Winnebago doesn't have them already mounted-mine has the backing plate bracket glued to the inside bottom lip(like they glue the hood brackets) lined up with the two holes but no license mount. Got one on ebay that fits Ford econoline - it looks just like the Winnebago one and bolted right up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ECONOLINE-VA...item2846082ee6

This is the one I like. Adjustable up and down for the front plate.

I checked and I only received the angled piece, not the smaller piece.

If anyone here does not need it and is willing to send me theirs, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd compensate you for the shipping of course.

I'm in Illinois, so I have to have the front license plate displayed and attached to the vehicle.

Or, does anyone have experience with Winnebago customer service? Would it be relatively pain free to reach out to them to get that part sent over to me?

Can you tell me the part number for that smaller bracket piece so I can tell Winnebago exactly what I need when I call them? I'm on a Mac so I can't view any of Winnebago's parts website.

Part number ending in 04. But before you order, feel under the lip of the RV and see if maybe they attached it there already. It could be they adhered it to the underside for you and left the front off. Ive found Winnebago parts order really terrific - once you get through. Hold times are loooong. Other alternative is Lichtsinn RV. They’re really good to deal with on parts. Good luck!

Bdub... Winnebago recently changed their parts policy. They no longer sell directly to owners. You MUST order from a dealer.

I think it's a lousy change - I always got a ton of help from the parts department. 90% of Winnebago dealers don't know a thing about Winnebago parts.

In essence, Lichtsinn RV has become the de facto WBGO Parts Dept.

Thanks for the the info.

Just got off the phone with Winnebago. FYI, according to them...
189652-04 is the L-bracket, and
189652-06 is the flat metal bracket (the part I did not receive)

Anyway, they are sending one out!

Phone call was quick and pain free.

I just needed to tell them the last 8-digits of my VIN and they had all of my info!
