Keys for the Front door

Hi all,

I only have one set of keys (dead bolt and lock - and they are different) and wanted to have another set made. So I went to Home Depot and they could not make those keys.

Do get them from a locksmith or do I go back to WB to get the keys?

Thanks
Dennis

My keys for the RV doors are made by TriMark a large manufacturer of RV locks. Each key has a number on them. Check with TriMark for each key you need by number.

Another vote for Trimark. I’ve ordered Keys for my previous and current rig, they were reasonably priced and shipped quickly.

I think if you look up your coach serial number and use Winnebago's Parts List for your RV, you will find the type of key cut for your coach.

There are 10 different combinations. But it's just easier to call Winnebago and they will send you cut keys.

Alternatively, you can order blanks on Amazon an go to a good old fashion lock smith to have your keys duplicated, if you have a good key.

In my coach, you can sometime find a duplicated key at a lock smith for the deadbolt of the Trimark 030-900 Lock, but not the bottom (small) key cam lock.

And when I talked to Trimark, they told me a Winnebago dealer is supposed to have a "master key" that will open any Trimark lock, but when I called a Winnebago Dealer in Dallas, they did not know what I was talking about. So if you get locked out, be sure to ask your lock smith if he has a Trimark "master key" for your lock type as opposed to drilling out the lock, which is not as simple as you may think!

If you have a 030-900 Trimark Lock, be sure to search the treads for how to adjust it every 3-5 years. It's easy with the instructions.

And if any of you start finding your Trimark door lock starts acting funny, then that's a sign you just need to adjust it... before you get locked out!

So how does one find what lock he has? Ask WB?

And please define "acting funny"....it takes a pretty good pull to open the door now. A real hard pull. Is that what you meant?

Thanks

I alway go to a Locksmith for vehicle keys, they are at least a third less than any dealer. I got a key for my Tacoma for $70 with a chip and the dealer asked over $300 for the same thing. The last time I went I asked them if they could make a Sprinter key with chip for our Winnebago View and they said they could and I wouldn't have to go to MB and pay out the rear. My point, go to a Locksmith and save a bunch of money.

Don't get just one set made. I carry a set in the glove box of my toad, one set at home, the set I drive it with and a set of door keys in a Hide-A-Key stuck in a remote place on the RV. I also have an ignition key hidden inside the RV.

I did that, including a key to my storage lot. A couple trips home to get the keys I forgot was too much. My local locksmith was reasonably priced and had all the blanks I needed.

My locks are Bauer and I had to go right to the manufacturer to get them. No one had the right key slugs for them.

Winnebago and Freightliner use a laser cut key that lock smiths do not make . If you have a Ford a local lock smith can help you out . But for the laze cut you need to call the lock manufacturer .

I ordered a set off of eBay, using the numbers off of the keys.

Take your original key set to a locksmith. Any competent one can make you a second set.

Got mine at Texas RV Supply, Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX. They had the Tri-Mark blanks in stock.
