Itasca P32 Two way radio

I have a 2004 Itasca Sunova P32 which has the two way radio mounted in the sink cabinet.
Since our unit is only 27ft long, we really don't use the two way radios. What I would like to do is remove this unit and replace it with a self contained speaker radio. Has anyone done this. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
