Is this normal or someones aftermarket work?

I found this foam surrounding the underside of the emergency start and battery disconnect solenoids. Was this done by WBGO or someone else along the line?

I have similar foam in a can, but it is white. Anyone know which product this is?

Nomad Mike, it was done WBGO to seal the bottom of the panel. Few years back the only place I could fine black spray foam was at a yard pond store. As long as you do not remove all of it and break the seal in the bottom it will be OK.

Mike,
It's kind of a new one on me. Our coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT, has those same solenoids in the back, just behind the right rear set of duals. But, while they're behind a panel, that has to be removed after some screws are removed, that area is not sealed at all. And, in a buddies '06 Itasca Meridian 36G with the C-7 350HP CAT, his are in the front, over the top of his generator and, behind a panel that has zeus fasteners. Once those are removed, the panel is removed and that exposes those same solenoids but, no sealant in that area what so ever.

I cannot say that what you have is Winne or, someone's idea of keeping them from the elements or not. I've just not seen it on other Winnes I've worked on.
Scott

FIRE UP, Our 03 Journey DL had it just like Mike described had to cut some of it out of the way to get to the post on the Aux relay to install the Trik-L-Start.

Mine is up front under a panel above the generator with 4 twist handles. In this picture you can see the front panel removed and that outer panel is where the access door with 4 quick twits connections are.

In the picture on the left under the emergency start solenoid I have already started to remove some of it. I had to remove a bunch under the chassis battery connection to get at the nut to install an Amp-L-Start.

I removed more than needed for this job as next week a replacement solenoid will be going in for this defective one.

I also had to remove some from under the house battery disconnect also to attach the wire to the Amp-L-Start.

I'm afraid I may have removed too much on the left side and want to put some foam back

I have found a black foam on Amazon called GREAT STUFF Pond & Stone Do you think this will work?

Well,
It just goes to show ya, learn something every day. Maybe because it's up front and possibly subject to weather infiltration that they do it that way. 'Cause like I stated on ours, way back behind the left duals, they're inside a separate compartment but, not sealed in like those in the pictures. Roger that.

That's someone's idea of how to keep their feet warm. I have very few complaints about our coach build, but in the winter there is nothing that can keep your feet warm when driving. Don't remember if mine has that or not, but that's the reason

All my local HD's don't show it in stock and Lowes is too far to drive for a single item.

To me the amount of foam in the picture is excessive and seems like a bad idea. I would be inclined to remove what there and then apply a SMALL amount of foam to seal the entry holes if desired.
