Hi Geeche

Algonac State Park is a great destination on the Saint Clair river you can watch the 1,000' lake freighters from your campsite.
It is about 40 miles north and east of Detroit.

South Higgins Lake State Park is one of the best destinations if not the best in the summer.

We just finished a color tour following the coast around the thumb and around the mitt. We woke up to snow and 36 degrees in Travers City Thursday October 12th.

Bob&Pat,

Thanks for the feedback. I have added both to my list of places to camp.
