Thank you for saying what a lot of people have wanted to say. Authorized tech. is a word that anybody can post on a wall, but doesn't mean that person knows what he/she is doing. I am a retired Journeyman skilled tradesman, with papers saying so, but that doesn't say I can do everything. But if you want to pay me enough I will try. If I can't fix it, i will get payed by the people I work for and the problem is still there.

X2. Right on. I had to drive from Everett, WA to FC to get a major problem corrected that was compounded by the incompetence of the dealers "qualified, factory trained, technicians". And the WA dealer was the last of about 3 I had presented the problem to. All had assured me it was fixed. All were "authorized" Winnebago dealer/service centers.

We have three problem that Forest City said were fixed but aren't.

They are good, not perfect.

Still, without a doubt, a trip to FC is worth it, great tour, great service, great town and Iowa is interesting.

We are thinking of a visit this summer but probably not during the GNR. Is there a place to camp nearby?

To the OP, March can be iffy. We were there this past first week in May and got hit with 12" snow. Pretty rare case but it happens.

Safe Travels,

There is a municipal park called Pammel Park less than a mile from the factory. They have water and electric at the sites and a large, multiple connection dump station at the entrance. It is not fancy but adequate.

Your other option is to park at the service center (electric only) or across from the service center in Winnebago's rally grounds. If you have a service appointment they give you a 'pass' to use their facilities.

You can also park at the visitors center for two or maybe three days - electric only. It's just across the road in front of the factory. You have to sign in at the desk as I recall. That is also where you sign up a factory tour.
