GVW

I have a 96 adventurer 34 ft. It has an f51 chassis. 10 lugnuts per wheel. My paper work is incorrect and shows it has a gm chassis. I'm confused whether my gvw is 17 0r 18000 pounds?
Anyone have any ideas?

GVW is the actual weight of the MH when loaded for travel. you likely mean GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) which is the maximum weight the MH chassis can support. i suggest calling Winnebago Tech Support at 1 (800) 537-1885. provide them your chassis VIN or coach serial #.

while you're at it be sure to ask for the following weight ratings:

- gross axle weight ratings for each axle.
similar to GVWR this is the maximum amount of weight each axle can support. this is actually more important than the GVWR since it is very possible to be overweight on one axle and still be under the total GVWR.

- gross combination weght rating
the maximum amount of weight the MH is capable of safely propelling forward.

good luck.

Which paperwork? Dealer paperwork or Winnebago paper work?

Take the VIN and run it against this database:

Perhaps you can help with this. The tires are rated to a max load tire pressure of 80 psi. The door tag on the motor home says 80 psi. When I had it serviced they put the tires at 70 psi. What is correct?

I went to the government weigh scale and the readings fluctuated over 500 pounds on each axle. I'm just under the motor home posted axle weight which are 6000 frt and 11000 rear at the highest readings on the screen. I tried to sit there until they stabilized but there was a line up. I went to the sight suggested by creativepart and my chassis ranges from below 14000 gvwr to 19000 gvwr.
I'm i correct in thinking a standard loaded motor home is not going to be over weight?
