Full Time for a Short Time

We have sold our home and will be relocating to the Hiawassee GA area in Aug. Not found a new home yet so we are about to become Full-timers for 30 to 60 days.. Has anyone tried the UPS version of mail forwarding, does it work well for you ? 99% of the mail we get is just junk mail but my insurance agent says I need some kind of a street address during transition between homes .

Any advice ?

Do you have a relative someplace that you can direct your mail to? We did that during a transition. It's sort of a PITA (changing addresses multiple times), but saved us a lot of trouble in the long run. Good luck in the mountains. I have a friend that relcoated to Dahlonega a few years back. Beautiful place!

Thanks Thom and Goodspike,
We had thought about that option but the family is in another state and I want to keep an address in NC for now, my car insurance agent says I need a street address. Not sure if that is a legal requirement or not but rates are based on the location. This is only for 60 days or less so trying not to complicate it too much.

A post office box is often nearby enough to make it easy. Through hikers on the longer trails often use them to mail supplies ahead to be picked up whenever they trek that far.

I like it for the ease and convenience without having the delay built in with it going to somebody who then sends it to you. For the overall price and ease of use, I see it as a value.

What to do with Mail ?????

We had our local Post Office 'HOLD' the mail for 30 days, a Neighbor picked it up after 30 days, and Started another 30 days after the first one. There was one day in between the 2 - 30 day segments, so we made that a Sunday. Another-wards, pick the 30 day mail hold up on Saturday and restart it for Monday again.

Can be done on line........

Let me suggest that you consider
Appalachian Campground

It is a small basic full-hookup campground near Highway 17 with a Hiawassee GA address, that the Campground Host will probably gladly allow you to use as your address while staying there.

Get a PO Box wherever you want your mail. If insurance won’t except PO address get Indy box with street address.

OK. I admit that I am curious. What is an Indy box?
