Fuel Pump Help Onan

Hey folks;
I have an oman BGE generator BGE, NHE Emerald plus series for our 1999 Gas chieftain.
http://www.cumminsonan.com/www/pdf/manuals/965-0528.pdf

I am trying to trouble shoot the fuel pump, Line, and perhaps electrical.

I am curious if i can directly plug the pressure pump on to a 12v DC battery. My thinking is that I should hear\feel the pump in action. Is this a correct statement ?

I did take a meter to the positive and common cables that plug into the pump and got about 10'ish V DC.

Any thoughts ?
Thanks
ian

Call Flight Systems in Pa. They can help you with diagnosis.

Measure from positive to Ground you should see about 12Vdc. that 10Volts you saw was voltage drop across the pump.

You will Hear\feel the pump if it is working.

Fuel pump

well it ended up being the fuel pump. Got a replacement
Airtex E8016S.

Just need to mount it up.

I am also thinking of getting rid of the metal tubing to the carb, dont see the need for it and will replace with gas hose.

That metal fuel line might be there for a fire safety.

Maybe, but modern fuel lines are designed to work in heat. They also insulate better than metal lines.

Great company to speak with ! The were very informative and their tech department offered some suggestions?

I did check with a couple of RV shops as well and they mentioned the gas hose would suffice as well as the metal line.
