I am curious, what fuel filter everbody is using on there CAT 3126 that is a 1 fuel filter system?
The reason I am asking, the last time I had mine serviced at the CAT facility they replaced the Alliance fuel filter with a CAT filter part # 175-2949.
From what I understand the Alliance filter is a 2 micron filter and I think the CAT is a 10 micron. I could be wrong on this.
I have tried to find the Alliance filter and I can't seem to locate one from Freightliner or CAT.
Where does everybody get there filters?
I have a 03 Journey DL 36GD 3126E

Tom, I get my fuel filter from the local Freighliner shop. It is the Alliance part that came on the motorhome when new and the last one was about $12. The last one was painted yellow instead of white like all the others but carried the same part number.
Hope this helps, Bob

Bob
What is the part # you use?
Does yours only use 1 filter?

Thanks

Tom, The part number that I have on the invoice from the local Freightliner parts dept. in Boise is ABP 32FRT01 which is the Alliance filter that came on our MH. I also see that I had a senior moment and really paid $19.02 on Jan 10 of this year. Also we have only one filter.
Hope this helps, Bob

I have a 2003 Itasca Horizon with a CAT 3126 and 1 fuel filter/water separator. When I had service at the factory in Gaffney last year they installed a CAT filter, part#198-6378.

Thanks for the info.
Do you know if it is a 2 micron filter like the Alliance OEM that came from Freightliner?
Where can I find

According to Freightliner the 32FRT01 filter is for a 2 filter system. The 32FRT03 is for a one filter system.

I am really getting confused about what filter goes where. I have a 2004 Cat C-7 330 HP engine. At the very rear just inside the grill is a Alliance filter 32FRT03 with the yellow bowl on the bottom for catching and draining water, and a Cat filter IR 0751 mounted on the passenger's side of the engine that can only be accessed from the inside of the coach. I thought I had a 2 filter system but whats the difference between the Alliance 03 and the 01 filter? Neither of my filters have been replace yet and are the originals. I guess as long as I use the exact replacements (that is if I can find them) I'll be okay.

Some of you are confussing this topic with different engines. This is about "3126E CAT Engines" which has ONLY 1(one) FUEL/WATER SEPERATOR FILTER, generally at the rear of the coach, There are no other fuel filters on the engine, unless you have a Fleetwood product.
In any case, read your Chassis and Engine owners manuals.
