Thank you,
That is excellent advice, since we are planning on taking one of the northern routes already it makes good sense to let the factory deal with the inevitable issues.

Be sure you call before you go to the factory. They don't take service appointments during the Grand National Rally which is July 21st thru July 26th.

WIT Club Grand National Rally - Overview

They also might not take appointments the week before and the week after the rally. It's a real zoo there around rally time so plan accordingly.

The do a first come first serve during the rally.
The also do not do warranty work during that time frame.

I believe the only warranty work they don't do during GNR is for Extended Warranties sold by a third party. The reason for this is the time involved in contacting the warranty companies for permission to do the work.

I live 150 miles from the factory and never had any issue close to making me think of driving down there for repairs.

Everytime we've needed service it's been done at the factory. The distance to the dealer is almost the same as it is to Forest City. At Forest City we know they have qualified technicians and parts on hand. There's no 2 week wait because they have to order a part. When you make an appointment you're sure to get in on the date it's scheduled for. The service writers are experienced enough that they can accurately estimate time and cost to do almost any job.

We've always had excellent service and fair prices. For us the factory is the first choice and anything else is a distant second.

We finally have a delivery date. Seems there is a delay once finished, they can't get them out fast enough. Once we take delivery later this month we will post pictures. Many thanks to all of those who took the time to post a response to my OP.

July is a busy month for Winnebago. The yearly Grand National Rally for Winnebago, Itasca, and towable owners starts with pre-rally activities this week and the actual rally the week after. Many of the employees are busy preparing for this. Many of the more than 1000 attendees come a week or two early to get service work done, which may be part of your delay.
