For those of you that have bought a new Winnebago unit in the last 2 or 3 years. What was your % of discount off the MSR?? And for those of you that bought a new 2 or 3 year old Winnebago what was your % off?? I'm looking at a new 2008 and could sure use some help so I can make a reasonable offer. This will be a no trade deal.

Ordered a'09 and took delivery in August of '08.Sticker price was a like 152K +/-.I paid about 116K,plus tax and tags and stuff. This was a Winny Adventurer 32H with just about every option available. You can figure what percent that is. This was with a trade-in of a '04 Winny Sightseer 30B for 45K,whitch at the time was book value.
Winnebago has a rule with its dealers that they cannot advertise any new coach for less than MSRP untill the next model year comes out.If you look on the internet for '09 models now,you can get some idea of what they are paying for them from the factory.

Bought ours new as a special order and negotiated 26% off list before it was even ordered. Of course, it took a while with a lot of argument and even driving away from the dealer. But after a phone call from the salesman saying “What do we have to do to sell you this RV today”, we returned the 25 miles to the dealer and still had to argue. 3 hours later, we had our 26%. I won’t mention names, but the initials are La Mesa RV in Tucson. Turned out to be a pretty good outfit to work with!

WE 181,000 on a 308,000. This was before taxes. We could have gotten another 15,000 off some 1800 miles away. Went local. It was a factory deal, and special offer.

The dealer had one on the lot that he would not budge on the price of 230,000 to 240,000 depending which month you went in.

I always wondered what was wrong with this one. Have yet to find anything major after 17 months of owning it.

Hello,
We purchased a New 2007 Voyage 35L in Jan 2009. The MSRP on the Label from Winnebago was $139,916. We paid $95,000. for the coach which is about 32% below the MSRP.
Of course the concession was a almost two year old coach that had been sitting on the dealers lot for that time.
I think that given the current economy that 25% to 35% below MSRP depending on the coach and it's age is reasonable.

We ordered a 2010 Journey 40L at the Hershey show last fall with sticker price of $256,000 and got 37% off. We also had priced a 2010 Tour at the show that we were offered 36% off. Love the Journey but wish we had gotten the Tour!!

2007 Voyage bought new in January 2009, got 42% off. Like earlier post a 2 year old unit that had been sitting on the lot, we had looked at it a few months earlier but they were nearly $20K higher. I believe they became pretty desperate to sell the unit.

Randy1207,
How does the Hershey show work? I understand it is laid out by make, and not by dealers. Are there multiple Winnebago and Itasca dealers in the Winnebago and Itasca areas to bargain with? What about tradings? Did you have one and did they give you a reasonable deal on it?

Thanks

Hey Outbumm,

Yes, at the Hershey show the units are mostly provided by the factory itself and then there are 2 or 3 local (local to PA) dealers there to handle the sales. You then take delivery via that local dealer.

They do take trade ins since you are dealing with the local dealer. We had already "priced" our trade with 2 or 3 dealers outside the show and knew what the trade in value was of our unit.

The Winnebago factory reps are also at the show and they are part of the negotiation process. This is the second unit we have bought at the Hershey show and have been extremely pleased with the deal we have come away with.

The down side for us is we live 12 hours away from Hershey so it means we had to make a second trip back to the mid-Atlantic to pick up the unit and also we would not be able to go back to the delivering dealer for service. We are fortunate that our local Winnie dealer does not care if you purchased the unit from them or not and has always provided excellent service to us from the units we have purchased from the Hershey shows.

Randy,
Thanks for the information. We have been considering upgrading to an Ellipse and have talked to 2 local dealers and the out of state dealer where we got our Suncruiser. We got what we considered a great deal on the Suncruiser (compared to other dealers) but was told by them that since they do not stock diesel pushers, to sell us 1 unit they would have to buy 3. So we are looking for alternatives and the Hershey show looks to be a good one.

Thanks

2008 Winnebago Destination 8.1 Gas pusher, 39W with all the options (king bed, two awnings, separate dining table and chairs, double door frig w. icemaker, combo washer/dryer, upgraded easyrest couch/sleeper etc., etc. Bought 1 yr old in March of 09 with 3,800 miles (missing two tvs and chair -- all replaced for $1500) from Kingrv.com (they sell many bank owned) as a foreclosure sale for $87,000, MSPR approx $185-190,000. Love the coach and chassis. Now have 13,000 miles on it. Greg
