A number of dealers will discount the new purchase price 25% off MSRP.
What should I expect if the coach is new, in stock, and TWO years old?
The 2012's are out and this one is 2010.

Bill, I wouldn't be so concerned about why it hasn't sold in this economy. I would start your negotiating at 35% off and also check the tires for date code. I bought my 2006 Journey in 2007 and got 25% off easily, I also got them to replace ALL the batteries as they go bad from just sitting.

My opinion only, but I would not offer more than 50%. I bought a year and a half lot queen for 40% off in 09. I did get new batteries with the deal. We would stop every 2 months or whenever and see if it had sold. There are plenty to choose from so make an offer and keep looking and test driving. The more you experience and learn the better.

Mine had been on the lot for about 8 or 10 months and the batteries were toast. Make the dealer get the work done before you sign and close the deal. Winnebago has an arrangement with NAPA on the house batteries. Once you sign, you'll have to fetch them from a NAPA dealer and change them yourself.

Check the date codes on the tires. I wouldn't nickel and dime and try to negotiate some kind of prorated amount based on the time left in the tires. Just figure the cost of a set of new tires as a deduction from the amount you'll offer.

They should give you a free oil change on the chassis and generator. Miles and hours are irrelevant here. Time counts too and it's way past time.

All of the caulking and seals on the roof should be inspected. You might want to double-check that yourself. Mine's been built now for three years and the side seams are still good, but you'd like the dealer to reseal it for you if there are any problems.

To be fair I took the same hit on a class C (06 Outlook 25F) that we traded in for the class A.
I haven't traded anything in over 40 years but wanted to make it simple and quick because of the times and market. While we were transferring from one motorhome to another a couple of people were taking pictures of our class c and appeared really interested, later we never saw it in the ads or on the lot. Looking back we probably could have saved another $20,000 by not trading, or not. May be the last trade I will do. The dealer has the connections and knowledge that we don't have.

Thank all of you for the great input. We keep hashing over the fact that the price difference just to buy a new one and forget the two year old stuff,,is only 15-20K.

Remember, the second it becomes your motorhome it becomes a two year old used coach. I would see what used 2010's are selling for (not asking, but selling for) and base my offer near that number. What's a warranty worth?
