Dealer not prompt with ordering warranty parts?

Hi board.

We’ve owned our 2022 Minnie Winnie 25B for 2 months now. How are we supposed to get defective parts replaced under warranty? Winnebago seems to have washed their hands of dealing directly with new owners concerning parts. They (Winnebago customer service) refused to answer a simple question about confirming a shipping address. The directed me back to my dealer. We’ll, we are 600 miles from our dealer in Texas. Calls to the dealer (and person ordering my parts) are answered but follow up just doesn’t happen. Can we go to any dealer that services Winnebago? Like (I hate to say it) Camping World?

Any input from how other new owners are getting replacement parts would be appreciated. Perhaps we were spoiled from owning a Tiffin for 5 years. They were very fast sending parts.

Thanks. Steve

I have gone to a different Winnebago dealer for warranty work instead of where I purchased it, which was in another state. Although they “unofficially” frown on it, they have completed the work. Only issue is they kinda put you towards the bottom of the list. When I did purchase our 2021 22M from the dealer nearest me, I had a small issue 2 weeks after we purchased it. They repaired it in 2 days from when I called.

This is our experience as well. We bought in OH in 2020, and live in CA. We did find a shop that is only about 30 miles away, but their service times for noncustomers are slow, and now they aren’t even accepting non customers.

Winnebago quit selling parts to customers some time ago, I think around early 2020.

Your best bet is to either find a local dealer that has a good selection of parts or order from a dealer elsewhere.

I've had good luck ordering a few small parts for our 2016 Era from Lichtsinn RV in Iowa. They are a mile from Winnebago and have a pretty good reputation from what I've heard.

You can order parts from any Winnebago motorhome dealer. BUT there will probably be hoops to jump through if you are getting them under warranty without the dealer actually processing the order and doing the work.

I doubt they'll simply take your word for it that your parts need to be replaced, without charge, under warranty.

RV warranties seem to not be very high on the priority list of many dealers.

It’s very disappointing to hear how warranty issues are being handled. It’s probably going to hurt the brand in the long run. It’s my understanding that all the dealer has to do is process the order with Winnebago and it then will get drop ship directly to the new owner. In our case the bunk (cushion insert) is falling apart on the bottom side. Bolts/screws are poking through the material. It’s just a matter of time. Lol. I guess we have the option to just purchase it from another source? I’m guessing it could be pretty expensive though. I might call the nearest Camping World and see what they say. Am loosing confidence in the McClains dealer near Dallas that we bought from.

Thanks for everyone’s input!
