Got a renewal notice in the mail today for the Winnie Premium Roadside Assistance through Coach Net. Not being a big fan of insurance, I'm interested in your opinions as to whether this is worth the money or not.

I personally prefer Coach Net, however you might "bump" the features against what Workhorse provides during the chassis warranty period. A lot depends on how you feel about the additional services Coach Net offers.

I am extremely happy with the only time I had to use it. I was in rural Iowa and was on my way in 1 1/2 hrs.

I'm curious what the rate is for this, I got it with my new Winnie but I really haven't had time to look into it much. I've heard good things about it though.

I guess you could call it insurance ...if so, it would be towing/breakdown insurance.

As I recall, first year was $79.50 and subsequent years are $99.50. It covers every vehicle you own, and provides much better roadside service that AAA, particularly for a large RV. In addition to the roadside service, tow truck, etc, CoachNet also provides 24 hr technical support via telephone. If you have any kind of question at all about getting something on your coach to work, you call them. Within 15 min they have a tech who knows your coach call you back and walk you through the issue over the telephone. I've had one roadside problem that went well, and have used the technical assistance several times. CoachNet is well worth it to me!!

having used them i can say that i wouldn't be without it and that was a call out on a Sunday afternoon. 45 min. response and my son-in-law was on his way. very friendly folks on the phone also.

I have coach.net and used them twice this past year. One was a lock out and the second a tow for my car. both times they were there and done in under one hour. Coach.net has been very good to me.

Gary,

When my chassis battery exploded while on vacation last summer in a campground in Oregon, my coach was towed to a Freightliner dealer about 150 miles away. I was on the coast and no Freighliner dealer was close. Coachnet arranged the tow, called me back twice to insure that the tow had arrived and that I was satisfied with the service, paid over $1000 bucks for the tow, and even paid to have the drive shaft put back on ($85) when the tow driver wouldn't do it.

So is it worth it to have the coverage?

ABSOLUTELY!!!

While camping at Fort Wilderness last summer, my wife took my keys out of my pocket for something and set them down in the MH. We then left, returning later that night to a locked MH and no keys.

CoachNet was called, and within an hour a locksmith from Orlando was on the scene and got us in.

Definitely paid for the whole year. I hope I never have to call them again, but for my peace of mind I will keep it paid up.

It is not entirely the monetary question, I would not have had the slightest idea of who to call at 9:00 P.M. on a Friday night, and left on my own it likely would have been at least the next morning before I would have located a locksmith.
