Class a Ford chassis ruff ride

Does anyone have a solution to smooth out the ride as in Canada some of our roads are a little ruff.

Give us a little more information on your RV... year, make, model. A lot of people start with tire pressure adjustments. Have your rig weighed and make sure your tires are correctly inflated as a beginning.

There’s a company called Liquid Spring that supposedly has solved this problem. But it’s something like $4,000 installed.

The main issue is that the Ford F53 is a chassis developed for heady duty truck use. Solid axles, leaf springs heavy duty shocks. It can carry a lot of weight, is reliable and cheap for OEMs to purchase.

Ford dare not make many changes to it or it could kill the benefits that it has in the marketplace. We’re kind of stuck with it. The last major change was the 6-speed transmission. And what a great improvement thats been.

I’ve added a steer stabilizer and Sumo Springs which improved drivability a great deal, but have done nothing for the rough ride. I’m not such there is anything I could do to address that issue that is reasonably priced or I would.

Most folks simply upgrade to a diesel pusher to get a smoother ride.

The only cheap fix for a rough ride on the F-53 chassis is to have the coach weighed on all four "corner" and to set the tire pressures accordingly.

You can improve ride with Kelderman or Liquid-Spring kits, but they aren't cheap.

There are fixes for wandering, vague steering, sway, rear-end "push" by passing trucks and for excessive bouncing after going over bumps, most costing money, but some free.
