My sister (husband and 5 kids) left from Michigan less than an hour ago. They will be there a few days, but are leaving before Christmas proper.

They have an '04 Itasca Spirit, 24', if you happen to see them...

Xmas at DisneyWorld lasts a long time.... A few days into November, the Halloween decorations are gone and the Xmas displays are in place. It is really amazing how fast the transformation takes place. Xmas season in DisneyWorld lasts from that point till about January 1st. Not much difference in what goes on from day to day anytime in that span.

We stopped in on Nov 8th (I think) to watch the Osborne lights (and get snowed on) in Hollywood Studios.

Just left there Friday. The campground is amazing. I don't know how some of the people find room take all of the decorations.

Magic Kingdom decorations were beautuful. EPCOT decor kind of ho hum but the fireworks show great as usual.

Fort Wilderness

We just got back as well. As mentioned decorations at campsites were phenomonal.. some folks have way too much time to do such detailed decorating. We sure appreciated it and grandkids did too

We were there for two months last year over the Holidays. It was incredible. If you are a RV nut, and a Disney World aficionado then this is the place to be. It is truly a 10 resort.

We go to FW for a weekend three or four times a year, and have made sure to be there for the holiday season for the last four years. This is our first Christmas as empty nesters so booked 24th to 27th this year. Our holiday trip is the one time we fork over the money for a golf cart, great just to cruise around and enjoy the lights. Most of the people with the really big displays get the same site every year. I talked to one of them last year, he gets there at the beginning of November to start setting up and doesn't get finished until around Thanksgiving. Even then he continues to work on it through Christmas, then breaks it all down in January.

We will be there on Jan. 3rd for 7 days, couldn't get a reservation before then. We have been to the parks several times but this will be the first time in the campground.

We were just talking about booking time at FW for Christmas 2011. We've been to FW many times, frequently the first week or two of December, but never for Christmas proper. It depends on whether we're able to sell our house next year or not. If so I'll be heading south at the end of October and not coming back! Unfortunately Peggy can't retire before June of 2012, so she would have to (residing in a small efficiency apartment for those last 5 months).

We've counciled others to NOT make their 'once in a lifetime' trip on a major holiday, and stand by that. If you want to see all there is to be seen, a major holiday would not be a good time. Crowds and long lines. We've been there so many times, however, we're happy to just be there to soak up the atmosphere.

Put me in the camp of those that would like to see photos of decorations people have put up in their campsites. Also, ask one of those that spend a couple months there each winter how they afford it (and would they like to adopt a 58 year old

Thanks for the photos! Love the RV theme on the one. Some don't know the meaning of 'over done' though.

I have heard that some people negotiate a lower package rate for a several month stay. It probably pays for Disney to do that because in Jan and early Feb, there are a lot of empty sites in the CG.

Ft. Wilderness is a park within itself. I met some folks there from the Miami area that come up several times every year just for the camping. They don't even go to the theme parks. But not me I like it all. Below are some Halloween pictures.
