Cat 7 first diesel fuel filter - Itasca Meridian 34H (2004)

I am wondering what fuel filter people are using.

Freightliner says they use a RAI S32 FRT04. I can't find that exact filter but I found a couple of cross-referenced filters. I don't know for sure but it appears that this filter may be designed for a glass bowl at the bottom.

The PO (I have had the rig for a year now) had a WIX 33405 filter in place, with a drain on the bottom. The filter had the paint rusting off of it, so I bought one right away, and did not get it on until a couple of weeks ago.

I tried to put the ball valves (different sizes on inlet and outlet) but the fuel oil flowing out of the lines was way too much to handle, so I abandoned that plan and just did a filter swap. The flow was over a gallon per minute.

The WIX is a 10 micron absolute filter. There is a second filter which is a 2 micron absolute filter, a CAT 1R0751.

I opened the rusty WIX 33405 filter and found some rust on the inside as well, but no water, and the filter element was rather clean.

So my question is, for the first filter, what filter are people using, and does it have an secondary bowl?
