Battery Cut-Off Install Recommendation - Itasca Meridian

I have a 2012 Itasca Meridian diesel class A. Even though it has a house battery cut-off switch in the entryway panel, it does not actually eliminate all draw on the six house batteries. If left unattended for 2 weeks, they will drop to about 75%-80% capacity.

I plan to install a 2nd manual cutoff in the battery bay to eliminate all current draw once I open the switch, which I would only do when the coach is going to sit idle for more than a week or so. I intend to connect the switch on the negative load cable close to the batteries.

I have six new Renogy 12v 100 amp hour AGM batteries in parallel. I wouldn't normally be too concerned about the current rating of the additional cutoff switch, but the coach has a "battery assist" feature that allows you to use the house batteries to help start the coach if the chassis batteries get too weak to turn the motor over fast enough to start.

My question. Keeping in mind the "battery assist" feature, what current rating does the cutoff switch need to be?

Thanks!

How much trouble does it take to get to the battteries on your RV?
On several I've owned, I found that a simple disconnect right at the battery post was a very cheap, easy and workable way to go. I put one of these on the negative post and unscrewing the knob takes all the current flow out of the question.

Yes, this is one solution I'm considering. My main concern is that this type disconnect is only rated at 125 amps continuous, which would be fine for handling anything in the coach, but I understand that my diesel starter motor could pull in excess of 500-600 amps from the house batteries if/when the "start assist" feature is used.
