Glad to hear you got started, and only a day later than planned. I assume you got the final connections of your solar install and lithium battery bank all worked out?

Have a great trip!
Fred

Welcome to AZ. We are not starting our trip back east until the fuel prices stabilize some. Looking forward to our 1st long trip in our Class A. We are in the northwest part of AZ about 40 miles SE of Hoover Dam.

I was finally able to get someone out to help where I was lost. The front junction box. Save me a bit of time by yawing and junctioning the shore power line.
Honest RV out of Gainesville, Fl

Gas runs from 4.29 to 4.50 so far. Diesel is all over from 4.79 to 5.55!

costco is around 4.20 or so for gas.

Are you using Gas Buddy? That app really helps planning the gas stops.

We used to just wing it with gas stops, but now they are an integral part in the travel plan. When we pull out in the AM we pretty much know where we're getting gas.

For instance, along your route, I assume it's I-10, is it best to stop in Louisiana or Texas? Sometimes knowing the prices in advance can save you $10 to $20. I checked and it looks like gas is at least $0.20-0.30/gal cheaper in LA at the state line then just over the line into TX.

But hopefully, you already know this.

We e just been looking for gas at about half a tank at this point.
Since the topography has flattened it’s gotten to 7.5 mpg.

LA is a horrible place as far as the roads. Very bumpy. Things were strewn about the bathroom. Other than that not to bad. Made it to the RV Park at about 2200….

Working on the team work thing with family.

If you are planning on using I-40 in NM and AZ
be prepared for more of that, or worse.

So we left Wichita, to this morning around 11. We’re now in Santa Rosa, Nm.
The RV park is 30 a night. We got here around 1830. Better time. More time to decompress.

Have a problem though. Water heater no worky, need ideas. I guess we’re going to try a rv repair place tomorrow.
Anyone know how the Amazon drop thing works?

Figure I’ll order the thermal cut off, igniter and maybe control board. Should work after changing one of those.

It worked fine for me this morning when I had it running on gas. Then saw where wife had turned on electric switch also. Then no more hot water.. it’s to cold for no hot shower

I’d have to say Louisiana was worse. Still have to go back through it on I 10.

Check all the connectors on the water heater and unplug the rig and turn off battery switch then restart. I had a loose spade connector on my fridge that stopped it from working.
Coming into Albuquerque from Santa Rosa the right hand lane is pretty bad, or it was last Labor Day.

In Grand Canyon village, as we left New Mexico we stopped at an rv parts place and picked up new thermal cut offs and control board. Runs like it should.
Stayed at valley of the gods last night, very windy place and perty much a dead zone for any radio of phone signal.

Fixed hot water last night in Grand Canyon. Works great. I’m flagstaff today and tomorrow. Temps below 35 after 9.
