Anyone know what this device is?

Attached to the fins of the refrigerator. Bought it used so it has some accessories that I'm trying to figure out.

yes, that's a Thermistor. it functions as a sort of thermostat for RV fridges. pay close attention to the specific cooling fin upon which it is mounted. if you find the need to remove it be sure you reattach it to the same fin. the idea is that sliding the thermistor up and down on the fin will increase/decrease the fridge cooling. can't recall which direction causes which to happen but a call to either Dometic or Norcold will get you that answer.

The Thermistor should be mounted on the second from the last fin on the right side as you're facing the refrigerator and as RK said the mounting height does have effect the temperature but I, too, can't remember which way, up or down means what.

Thanks for the input everyone. My OLD Norcold didn't have one of these and this looks a little like it was an after thought or some kind of add on. I'll check the manual and read up on it's use.

Warm air rises, cool air sinks. My guess would be the higher you raise the thermostat, the cooler the overall temp of the fridge would be.

This. Up is cooler, down is higher.
