Advice wanted on water tank leaking, 1988 Winnie Warrior

The water tank is leaking from underneath - it's a drain hole under the tank, and I was recently advised by owners of a camping store that I'd need it spin welded, which is costly. I'm wondering if I can replace the tank or put another water container inside the tank, any suggestions are welcome!
