2022 Vista 31B Brake Controller Plug Location

We have a 2022 Vista 31B and are trying to install a brake controller. Problem is that we can't locate the OEM-installed plug under the dash. The manual says it is supposed to be to the left of the steering column, however, we can't locate any unused plugs anywhere under the dash at all. We took off the fuse box cover to gain a better vision of the wires, but nothing was there. We looked on both sides of the steering column and couldn't find anything there. We took out the stereo panel to look higher up above the steering column and couldn't see anything there. We also looked in the engine compartment thinking that maybe they didn't bring it inside, but nope, not there either. We don't want to have to take the entire dash apart just to find the plug. Also, the wiring diagrams don't show any close-ups that have the plug listed, but it does show the 7-pin in the back.

Has anyone else installed a brake controller on this rig that could shed some light as to where they found it? TIA

I found it! It is NOT next to the steering wheel on the left. It is up and behind the fuse box panel. You have to take the plastic cover off of the fuse box, stick your hand thru the square opening and thru the gazillion wires and go the back and up and fish around. We had two open plugs. The brake controller plug is updated from the square 6 hole to a 4 hole like the side that goes into the brake controller. I've attached a photo.

Great! Now for the next step- making the controller install as close to plug-and-play as possible. This is to reduce or eliminate contorting yourself under the dash to wire the controller.

As you note, Ford changed the connector from a six-pin to a four-pin. Unhappily, as far as I can tell, no one yet sells a compatible four-pin "pigtail" or harness. Because I'm a detail guy, I'm going to spend some time digging deeper- maybe there's a pigtail to be found.

I almost came up empty-handed.

Ford sells a part that could be a harness that connects to that connector. Or, it could be that connector, which would not be of use to you. Here's the link to the part. I'd be inclined to call a local Ford dealer and ask him for more detail. I'd also be inclined to order the part, even if I couldn't return it, but it's your $20-$25, not mine, to gamble.

By the way, that incomplete part number, 14A348, is used on a number of Ford chassis going back years, so don't bother doing a Web search- "all noise, no signal." If you talk to the Ford parts desk person, ask him/her for the complete part number that applies to your 2020 or 2021 model year chassis. If you could share the complete part number here, I'd appreciate it (for future reference).
