Our HWH panel has an Auto Level button and a Manual Dump button. If, as Tim says, you hit the Auto Level button, it should dump the airbags first, then begin the auto leveling process. Again as Tim alludes, if you desire to manually level, hit the Manual Dump button, let her settle, then work your manual magic.
We've chimed in on the Auto vs Manual leveling a number of times. We belong to the camp that is conceited enough to believe we do a faster, better job than the Auto feature does. Especially on uneven surfaces.
Also, if you're new to the Journey, your fwd air tanks have manual drain valves lanyards accessable at about the ten o'clock position (right side) and two o'clock (left side) behind the steering tires. Although the tanks have automatic electric drain valves, belt n suspenders. We drain ours every two three days drive time. Takes about 15 seconds each side.
