2004 Adventurer 38R Chassis Type

Greetings, I am a new owner of a 04 Winnebago Adventurer 38R and curious about how to find the chassis type. I am sure it is right in front of me but the literature seems to give me all sorts of options without any definition on how to identify. Any help is appreciated.

Next to the drivers seat there is a yellow placard on the wall (or near that area) that is federally required. It contains the official build info and details your chassis vin and information. You’ll also see your complete model name, year of manufacture the year of manufacture of your chassis, serial number of your RV, etc.

Make note of all of this info you will need it for ordering parts and service.

Thank you Creativepart. Found the data tag and took a picture. Next question, would my chassis identification then be WPGR38 and is R38 the short version to use when ordering parts? Also, does the WPGR38 break down to some additional information?

Thanks

Both are your model info and both can be used. The WPGR38 indicates that is a Workhorse chassis and not a Ford chassis. The 38R is your floor plan designation.

The 38R only came with the Workhorse chassis but it will always help to mention that info to be sure you get Chevy, Alison and Workhorse chassis parts not Ford which was standard on other Adventurer models that year.

I’ve been told that Workhorse changed the chassis etc in 2005. So your year is vital when ordering parts. There is a Workhorse chassis forum on www.irv2.com. You might spend some time there looking at info.

Here’s a link to your brochure, the specs are on the last page.

You may want to do some research on your chassis. I have a 2005 Winnebago Adventurer 38R and it was built in April of 2004. I found out that I have a 2004 Workhorse chassis.

This is extremely common. Manufacturers purchase large quantities of chassis and hold them in lots. They don’t really start rolling them into the factory until they have enough on hand to keep an efficient production line running for a full run of RVs.

Your chassis build year is on your placard with your model info, serial number and VIN.

Run your VIN on one of the many online VIN inspection websites. You’ll find large amounts of information that can really come in handy.
