Hi Morich. So far the dome light goes out when the drivers door is closed. I am not sure of what caused the light to stay on but you were a great help.

Sounds good and we should not worry what happened for long as it may never happen again. There may have been something like a metal cutting fromdrilling that dropped ontothe switch contacts and put ground on that wire?
Then when you worked on the switch or just slammed the door the right way, the metal moved on down in the door and is not sleeping happy as a clam, and never to be seen again!
