It Could Happen

I was very reluctant to join WIT because they wanted to assign me to the Northern International Treckers.

I don't think that the abbreviated chapter name would look too cool on the motorhome.

Is the WIT membership really worth it for a Canadian member?

You could always join up with a different branch. How about the Delaware International Motorhomers?

I was approached a few weeks ago by a fellow who lives near us. He had seen our motorhome in the driveway and invited us to be his guest at the next local chapter WIT campout.

We enjoyed the campout this past weekend and signed up to join WIT as well as joined the local chapter. Unfortunately, the state rally for Pennsylvania is the same week as the iRV2 national rally or we would have attended it.

I'll have to say....those 12 Winnies all parked in a group at the campground looked so cool!!

Everyone should attend the WIT Grand National Rally at least once at Forest City. There are over 1600 electric sites. There are at least 20 seminars dailey covering every aspect of Winnebago's and a lot of vendors are there to assist with problems with their products. The Winnebago Surplus store has bargins on everything from small screws to furniture.

We received a courtesy one year membership in WiT but don't see any benefit in renewing. The only thing we receive from them is the advertisements for their rallies which all seem very expensive. We can organize our own trips and make our own reservations for about a third of their price. We can go to the national rally without being WIT members. So why join?

Yep, us too. We've never been much for "joining", but been WIT members for 3 years and just renewed for another 3. Have a great local group (Delmarva Winnies) that we meet from time to time.

WIT Forum

WIT would be welcomed here to request a "WIT Forum" so that all WIT members could interactively communicate with each other using our forums .... just an idea!

When we purchased our brave the dealer included the first year. We renewed the second year and have not since then. Driver, by having a seperate WIT area wouldn't that dilute the Winnebago information by spreading it over 2 places?

When we had our Minnie Winnie we joined WIT to see what it was. Went to one state rally and did not go again. Nothing wrong with the people, we had a great time, just that they were all about 15 to 20 years older than us and retired. The two loacla chapters to Houston area were always camping, a bit too far away for us to make the camp outs regularlly.

Their activities were at a diffent pace...more for the retired and slower paced world. Best thing to do is to look into one of the local chapters and see how they are organized and see if the activities are suitable to you. They always welcome newcomers.

Had to laugh , you didn't join a local chapter because everyone was retired and we didn't join a local chapter because we are very active retired and don't do week end camping. Kept our membership to WIT because we like the tip section in the magazine. Anyone who hasn't gone to national should . We had a good time, except hubby torn his knee trying to jitterbug on parking lot. I suggested that they get a portable dance floor.lol

Topics related to our Winnies (hardware) should in fact remain in the Winnie Forum.
